I don't carry this in my store because it's bulky and I don't have the space for it. Hancock's of Paducah offers the best price I've found anywhere, so use the link above to order it there.
This double-sided fusible batting is essential for the quilting technique in my book T-Shirt Quilt ... As You Go!, and is my all-around favorite batting!
It's Hobbs' Heirloom 80/20 Cotton/Polyester batting, with the addition of being fusible on both sides. It comes in two sizes: Queen (90" x 108") and Crib (45" x 60"). The link above goes to the Queen size - click here for the Crib size.
Being able to fuse the fabric to the batting prevents tucks and puckers on the backs of your quilts. Use it for making T-shirt quilts and it eliminates the need for stabilizer. I love using it for the daily blocks in Free-Motion Mastery in a Month -- there are no pins to avoid and the blocks are more stable and manageable in the machine.
The fusing offers a bit of stability while quilting. It is repositionable too! Its medium thickness makes it easier for beginning quilters to balance their stitch tension. And, the fusible fibers are designed to release once the quilt is finsihed, so you'll get a soft, drapey quilt.
I prefer this over a basting spray because I don't have an outdoor area to spray in.
Happy Quilting!
