Baravelle spirals  have huge "Wow!" factor, yet they are surprisingly easy to design and sew! Using the techniques in RaNae's best-selling book Simply Amazing Spiral Quilts, learn to draw a Baravelle spiral block, then explore lots of ways to color them to create spirals, lightning bolts, pineapples and more. Along the way you'll learn RaNae's "painless paper piecing" techniques. Use your spiral block in a quilt or other project, or a pattern is provided for finishing blocks into pot holders.

RaNae's book Simply Amazing Spiral Quilts is recommended (but not required) and will be available for purchase at the workshop. (The basic sewing information covered in this class is also contained in her second book Magnificent Spiral Mandala Quilts.)

Note to presenters: This class has been expanded to include new designs with Baravelle Spirals. It can be taught as a full-day class or a half-day class. In the full-day class students will have time to design and complete the spiral block and we will have time to cover ways to set Baravelle spirals in quilt layouts and how to quilt spirals. In the half-day version students will explore a limited number of designs and begin sewing the block. Please note that half-day classes must be scheduled for FOUR (4) hours, and special pricing applies.
