Ever since I started teaching Free-Motion Mastery in a Month, the question my students ask most often is "Now that I can quilt, how do I decide what designs to put where on my quilt?"  Layers & Lines answers that question.

Your quilt will tell you how it wants to be quilted -- if you know how to listen. In this 2-hour class, you'll learn the questions to ask to have a "dialogue" with your quilt so you'll know how to quilt it.  And since thread is the "paint" of quilting, we'll also discuss thread color, fiber and weight. Then, we'll look at YOUR unquilted projects (be sure to send them to me ahead of time) and explore quilting ideas that can take your quilt tops from special to spectacular.

After Layers & Lines, you will never look at a quilt -- including yours -- the same way again!

"Since I began quilting the prevailing instruction on choosing a quilting design, in everything I've read as well as advice from other quilt teachers and friends, has been: 'Listen to your quilt and it will tell you what it wants.' My quilts have been mute. Your class was the first to provide questions to ask about the quilt itself."

How will I receive the class materials and meeting login information?

When you enroll, you will receive an email with links to download the class handout and the Welcome Letter.  The Welcome Letter has the Zoom login information.  These documents are also accessible via a button in your order confirmation. You can also go into your account on my store to see previous orders and download the documents from the order found there.

How do I share a quilt top to be reviewed for a quilting design?

Registered participants may email photos to me at ranaequilt@hotmail.com. Put "Layers & Lines [Your Name]" in the subject line. I will select participants' quilts to discuss from the photos received. Depending on the number of participants, there may or may not be time to discuss all quilts; I will include as many quilts as time permits.
* Quilts must be received no later than the day before the class.
* Images must be high-resolution, no less than 1000 pixels high.
I typically am able to spend about 10 minutes on a quilt in the class, one quilt per person. If you would like more time, or would like to discuss multiple quilts, I invite you to schedule a private consultation. Email me at ranaequilts@hotmail.com for more information.
