This class is available LIVE ONLINE through the Zoom platform. Please contact RaNae for more information.
Learn to design and sew your own original Point-to-Point spiral. Using the techniques in RaNae's best-selling book Simply Amazing Spiral Quilts, learn to create a Point-to-Point spiral in any shape. We’ll explore ways to vary them as we talk about color, value and pattern choices. You’ll learn a method of foundation piecing that is probably easier than you have ever done before. You will sew one block in class (in half-day format you will start it and learn enough to finish it at home). The materials list includes enough fabric for two blocks, and a pattern is provided for finishing them into a pair of pot holders. Plenty of examples in class will give you inspiration for incorporating this elegant spiral block into your own quilt designs.
Class kit includes preprinted foundations for Point-to-Point spiral blocks, sewing instructions, a pattern and batting for two pot holders.
Download the Materials List above for detailed materials list. RaNae's book Simply Amazing Spiral Quilts is recommended, and will be available for purchase at the workshop. (The basic information covered in this class is also contained in her second book Magnificent Spiral Mandala Quilts.) To purchase books and materials before the workshop, click on "STORE" above.
Note to presenters:
This class can be taught as a full-day class or a half-day class. In the full-day class students will have time to design and complete the spiral block and we will have time to cover ways to set spirals in quilt layouts and how to quilt spirals. In the half-day version students will design the block and begin sewing, but students will probably not have time to complete it in class. Please note that half-day classes must be scheduled scheduled for FOUR (4) hours, and special pricing applies.
