Gathering of Friends

This quilt was made from a collection of batik Friendship Stars and Pinwheels that I received in a block swap with an online guild I participate in. I had them for several years -- every now and then I would pull them out and try to arrange them, then give up and put them away again. After finishing Simply Amazing Spiral Quilts

in December 2007 I wanted to make a quilt just for fun, and one that had NOTHING to do with spirals! This time the blocks came together in a way that reminds me of the many friends I have gathered from all over the world through quilting.
